It’s never too late to start eating RIGHT!

Chronic diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease (heart disease and stroke) and cancer can be prevented if you eat a healthy diet and keep physically active.

A healthy diet includes plenty of fresh fruit, vegetables and high-fibre foods (like beans, lentils, wholewheat bread, oats) and is low in fat, sugar and salt.

Kenyan nutrition experts have developed guidelines to help us understand how to eat more healthily. These guidelines are suitable for adults, as well as for children who are 5 years and older. It is especially important to teach our children to eat healthily from a young age as this will protect them from getting chronic diseases in adulthood. If you already have a chronic disease, following these guidelines will help you control your condition and feel better.
